Taq Hotstart DNA Polymerase

This Taq DNA polymerase, with 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity, prevents false amplification and has a fast start function due to its aptamer-based hot-start formulation (antibody-based hot-start also available). It offers a broad amplification range, fast detection, and high long-lasting sensitivity (2.5 hours at room temperature without any loss of sensitivity). It’s robust enough to tolerate variable reaction environments and prevent result variation, making it suitable for a broad range of PCR applications including qPCR, TA cloning, high-throughput and multiplex PCRs. Taq Hotstart DNA Polymerase comes with a 10x reaction buffer, with the option of customization and bulk aliquots also possible.

PlexTaq® 5x qPCR Mastermix

This product is ready to use as a fully equipped reaction mix containing engineered Taq DNA polymerase, optimized buffer and ultrapure dNTPs, so only oligos and template need to be added. Offering aptamer-based, hot-start technology, it prevents false amplification and provides a fast-start function. It is optimized for highly robust and reproducible multiplex PCR performance, producing reliable results with crude samples and without the need for an extraction step. Its 5x concentration allows more volume for target-specific primers, probes and target specimens (multiplexing), leading to improved sensitivity. Despite this, it contains all excipients necessary to be freeze-dryable or air-dryable upon request.

HiDi® product family

HiDi® (High Discrimination) reagents have a high sensitivity and selectivity of mismatches at the 3’-terminus of primers in PCR, making them suitable for a broad range of PCR applications. Ideal for modern genome editing techniques, such as allele-specific PCR, HLA genotyping, CRISPR/Cas and TALEN-based approaches, as well as CpG methylation analysis and mutation detection in a high background of wild-type sequences. It offers excellent discrimination with no false amplification thanks to the aptamer-based hot-start technology. Available as a stand-alone enzyme, mastermix or even as a custom formulation and suitable for SYBR Green or probe chemistry. This product family has had numerous citations in prestigious scientific publications, such as Nature and Genome Research.

Allele-specific PCR performed from 1 ng/μl of HeLa gDNA in the presence of a real-time dye, indicating the amplification of the C-allele specific primer only. The A-allele specific primer is discriminated, thus not amplified up to 50 cycles.

Volcano product family

This fully equipped, ready-to-use reaction mix is easy to handle. The unique, engineered Taq DNA polymerase is highly thermostable (half-life at 95°C of >40 min) with reverse transcriptase activity that reads both RNA and DNA. It offers fast time to result with no isothermal reverse transcription step required thanks to the fast ‘zero-step’ RT-PCRs directly from RNA. This also means there is no need for sample extraction as immediate hot PCR cycling conditions can break cell and virus membranes. The blue color acts as a pipetting aid for better visibility while the aptamer-based hot-start prevents false amplification and provides a fast-start function. This product family is used in SARS-CoV-2 PCR detection kits without RNA extraction and is suitable for SYBR Green or probe chemistry. Also available as a CE-IVD certified mix. This product family has had several citations in prestigious scientific publications, such as Nature Cell Death & Disease and Stem Cell Report.

Reverse transcription (cDNA generation) and DNA amplification happens at the same time.

Volcano3G® RT-PCR Probe Mastermix remains active across wide temperature range up to 95°C, whereas competitors lose their activity at 60°C and 70°C.

Suitable for pre-treating clinical samples and RNA template for secondary structures.

Lyo-ready mastermixes

These lyophilization-ready mastermixes offer high sensitivity to reliably detect low amounts of template in wet and dry format. Containing no glycerol and all the necessary excipients needed for freeze-drying, these mixes only need the addition of primers and probes. They are easy to handle, offering reduced pipetting steps and fewer pipetting errors once freeze-dried. Enzyme activity is fully preserved and recovered after rapid rehydration in any aqueous solution.

Bst family

This product family offers excellent isothermal amplification. They are suitable for several nucleic acid amplification methods, e.g. loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), and display high strand displacement activity and exhibit 5’ to 3’ polymerase activity. Note that the Bst family lacks 5’ to 3’ exonuclease activity and is not compatible with PCR.

- Compatible with portable instruments with a small footprint. Suitable for point-of-care or field applications.
- Fast TTR. Includes an advanced buffer system that ensures high yield and performance with short time-to-result. See Figure 1.
- Tolerant to inhibitors. Enables rapid and robust LAMP reactions with crude sample matrices, e.g. blood. See Figure 2.
